Jalen Renaud will be bringing on the excitement next month in his hometown at MGM on 8-7-2021.

Jalen Renaud (5-0-0, 1 ko) of Springfield, Massachusetts will be fighting in his hometown of Springfield, Massachusetts for the first time in the 413 against “Jabbin” Joe Wilson, Jr. from Hartford, Connecticut on the undercard of Kendrick Ball Jr vs. Tyi Edmonds at the MGM Springfield Casino which will be promoted by CES Boxing.

Pattee Mak: You are fighting “Jabbin” Joe Wilson Jr. (3-4-0) of Hartford, Connecticut. He lost 3 in a row and hasn’t fought since 2016. I know you have seen him fight before since he's from Ct. What are your thoughts on this match up?

Renaud: I hear he lost his last 3 but he fought some good competition around here. I mean Joe is always a fighter so he’s comin to fight and he’s a Ct legend.

Pattee Mak: Did you both spar before or meet in the armatures?

Renaud: We did rounds when I was younger, like 17.

Pattee Mak: This will be your first 6 rounder. Is your body prepared for it and what steps have you been doing to prepare for this bout?

Renaud: My body is in phenomenal shape right now. I just been working hard pushing everything to the limit.

Pattee Mak: Are you and pops still a team?

Renaud: Me and my pops were always a team. That’s my guy. My dad's a real father to me, real man. He trained me and he got me as good as he could and when it was time for someone else to step in and get me ready for the pro’s he brought Hector Rosario and it was the best choice I could have made for me. Hector is an excellent coach.

Pattee Mak: I remember when you were in the amateurs and your dad training you as well. He definitely has his heart in the right place when it comes to you and your dad loves boxing.

Pattee Mak: Were you training faithfully during covid and where are you training now?

Renaud: I am training Manchester ROC, Planet Fitness and for days that I can’t make it out to Ct, I'll to train at Central City, stop in on my man, Josh Orta and Mike Rodriguez.

Pattee Mak: I believe Josh will also be fighting on that card as well.

Pattee Mak: I’ve seen Hector in Joe’s corner along with Paul Cichon as well so I’m sure he’ll be able to give you some words of wisdom.

Renaud: Paul is not my trainer, I train at his gym. Hector Rosario is my trainer I mean in all honesty I haven't really asked him anything about Joe but lol now I'm going to but I’ve been in the ring with Joe before.

Pattee Mak: How important is it for you to be fighting in the 413?

Renaud: It's a super big deal. I’ve missed all the other shows they have had since I’ve turned pro. I was unable to fight on them the first time. Now people actually get to see me at home, in my environment. I can’t lose, failure is not option in my eyes. I have to perform. I can’t let my city down.

Pattee Mak: Are you selling tickets?

Renaud: Yes I am selling tickets. I have one’s that are $128.00 and also $113.00. I got tickets for $75.00 and I also got tickets for general admission which will be $43.00.
