All-Star Boxing Results From Maine

Professional and amateur boxing was held at the James Banks Exposition Center, Portland, Maine on November 12, 2022. The results are as follows:

8 Rounds – For the ABF/USA Middleweight Title

Jason Quirk of Scarborough, Maine vs. Anthony Hines of Dorchester, Massachusetts. A very action back and forth bout with Quirk controlling the action and with the fan base behind him he had a successful fight winning by UD with no knock downs. The judges scored the bout 80-72; 78-74 and 80-72. Quirk increased to 10-0, Hines having his first loss at 9-1.

Co-Main Event – 8 Rounds – Northeast Regional Super Bantamweight Title

Jorge Abiague of Portland, Maine vs. Eder Clervoix of Canada. Agiague won by TKO when Clervoix retired at the stool at the beginning of round 6 when he refused to come out of the corner. Abiague increased to 12-2-0 and Clervoix 1-3.

8 Rounds – Welterweights

Fan Favorite Brandon Berry of West Forks, Maine vs. Miguel Angel Suarez of Argentina. Suarez the taller of the two fighters did stand up tall next to Berry. Round 1, Suarez received the count. Round 3, Suarez received the count from a body shot. Round 3 twice received the count from a hook. Round 5 Berry continued to the body and referee Tom Clark stopped the bout at 2:03. Berry was successful by TKO and increased to 25-6-2 and Suarez 15-10-0.

4 Rounds – Cruiserweights

Cristiano Pedro of Lewiston, Maine vs. Jimmie Levins of Buffalo, NY. Levins received a 1 point deduction for holding in Round 4. After 4 rounds the judges scored the bout in favor of Pedro when he controlled the bout 40-35; 39-36- 40-35. Pedro increased to 3-4-1 and Levins 0-7-0.

6 Rounds – Junior Middleweights

Jahyae Brown of Schenectady, NY vs. Jader Alves de Oliveira of Framingham, MA. During round 1, Alves de Oliveira received the count from Tom Clark twice. At 2:43 of round 1, referee Tom Clark had enough and stopped the bout and Brown wins by TKO and increased to 12-0 and Alves de Oliveira 0-17.

AMATEUR BOUTS:

Middleweights (165 lbs 3 Rounds)

Wade Faria – Gorham, Maine vs. Bopol Tshiunza, Lewiston, Maine

Faria wins by Decision

Super Heavyweights (203+ lbs 3 Rounds)

Zordan Holman of Westbrook, Maine vs. Joseph Jones, Sharon, Massachusetts

Referee stopped the bout at round 2 at 1:36

Jones ended up with a bloody nose.
