DeLuca and Lopes Goes the Distance & Wins by UD; Vendetti the New England Jr Middleweight Champ

Main Event - 8 Rounds - Jr Middleweights: Fan favorite Mark DeLuca of Whitman, Ma fought a tough fight with Gabor Gorbics of Budapest, Hungary. DeLuca with his chiseled body worked Gobrics’ body and delivered jabs while coming forward. DeLuca usually being first throughout the bout while Gorbics trying to break in DeLuca’s guard. After 8 rounds the judges scored the bout 79-73; 79-73 and 80-72 all in favor of DeLuca. DeLuca increases to 15-0, 10 Kos.

Co- Main Event - 10 Rounds - Female Welterweights:

Aleksandra Magdziak Lopes of Marshfield, MA vs Szilvia Szabados of Budapest, Hungary and is the WBC Female Welterweight World Champ. Lopes who came out with 2 different boxing shoes on was picking and choosing her punches. Fans for Lopes were saying “Let’s go Ola”. Both fighters were throwing more arms punches than digging down deep. Szabados tried cutting the ring off while coming forward but Lopes jabbed while she was coming in. Lopes was the busier of the 2 fighters. After 8 rounds all the judges scored in favor of Lopes 100-90 3x. Lopes increases to 16-3-2.

Middleweights - 8 Rounds for the New England Jr Middleweight Title

Greg Vendetti of Stoneham, MA vs Ibrihim Shabazz of Newark, NJ. Vendetti either cutting off the ring or backing Shabazz up against the ropes while take complete control of the rounds. Shabazz usually circling around Vendetti. Shabazz not letting his hands go and when he did he didn’t have too much power to his punches. Shabazz’s corner giving great instructions but Shabazz just isn’t following their commands. After 8 not so busy rounds with not too much engaging the judges scored the bout 79-73 3x all in favor of Vendetti. Vendetti increases to 11-2-1.

Bantamweights (Females) 4 Rounds: Both fighters stepped up and made their pro debuts, Amanda Pavone of Burlington, MA vs mma fighter Kaline Medeiros of Woburn, MA. First pro fight for both fighters. Both fighters were aggressive and weren’t afraid to let their hands go. Pavone rocked Medeiros in round 2. After 4 rounds the judges scored the bout 39-37; 39-37 and 40-36 all in favor for Pavone.

Welterweights – 4 Rounds: Paddy Irwin of Quincy, Mass vs. pro debut Khaaliq Core of Dorchester, MA. During round 1 ref called a low blow on Core from Irwin. Core who switched from orthodox to southpaw had more of a straight stance. Core gets hit with a body shot and didn’t get up from the count. The bout ended at round 1 at 2:58 and it ended the bout. Irwin wins by KO. Irwin increases to 2-0.

Welterweights – 4 Rounds: Adrian Sosa of Lawrence, MA vs pro debut Shavonte Dixon of Philadelphia, PA. Sosa dominated the bout while dropping Dixon 3x and he came in with what looked like sneakers. It all ended in round 1 when the referee stopped the bout at 1:54 and Sosa won by TKO.

Welterweights – 4 Rounds: Both pro Debut fighters, Matt Probin of Lewiston, ME vs Yurik Mamadov of New York, NY. Good competitive 1st pro debut bout for both fighters. Both weren’t afraid to let their hands go. Probin a southpaw and orthodox fighter switched it throughout the bout. Mamadov was great at defense and came forward. All 3 judges scored the bout 40-36 in favor of Mamadov by UD.

Heavyweights – 4 Rounds:

Nick Cyr of Quincy, MA vs Pro Debut Brian Richardson of Dorchester, MA. A slug fest at its best. Cyr came out and landed some great left and rights on Richardson who didn’t do too much. It all ended in the 1st round at 50 seconds when Cyr backed up Richardson into the corner and the referee stopped the bout while Richardson tossed out his mouth piece. Cyr increases to 4-1, 3 Kos and Richardson on his pro debut gets his 1st loss.

Other non-Northeast bouts:

Heavyweights – 6 Rounds: Naill Kennedy of Dublin, Ireland vs Willie Palms of Newark, NJ. Palms down in the 2nd. Palms not doing too much and got upset when the referee stopped the bout at 2:30 in round 2 Kennedy won by TKO.
