MURPHY’S BOXING PRESENTS WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP BOXING, SAT. 7-30 @ MEMORIAL HALL IN PLYMOUTH, MA. - -
[Boston, Massachusetts] Murphy’s Boxing is proud to announce World Championship Boxing is coming
back to Plymouth, MA. Saturday July 30th at Memorial Hall in Plymouth. U.S. Marine
Veteran and undefeated middleweight contender Mark “Bazooka” DeLuca faces the
biggest test of his career when he battles the always tough Gabor Gorbics (19-2
12KOs) in a 10 round middleweight showdown. In his last fight on May 5th 2016, Mark
won, which to that point was the toughest fight of his career against challenging
opponent Salim Larbi (20-5-2) at the Memorial Hall in Melrose MA. Suffering the 1st cut
of his career in the very first round, Mark showed he could fight through it, as he went
on to win a hard fought unanimous decision over 8 tough rounds. Controlling the pace
of the fight, Mark routinely got the better of the heated exchanges, staggering Larbi on
multiple occasions.
The boxing world is buzzing about Mark’s power and his old fashion throw back style.
Mark's work inside the ropes combined with his large Boston area fan base and
Marine Corps following are quickly making a Deluca fight a can't miss event. With 10
devastating knockouts, he has marched through all of his 14 opponents to date in a
violent and destructive manner. DeLuca looks to keep his championship aspirations
alive but first must get through Gabor Gorbics a relentless fighter who like Mark never
stops coming. Those in the business, see this shaping up to be an all out war.
Also on the card in the Co main event will be local fan favorite Aleksandra Magdziak
Lopes (15-3-2) who will fight Szilvia Szabados (13-6) for the WBC Female Welterweight
World Championship. Lopes will be trying to capture the title that alluded her, when she
traveled to Sweden in November 2014 and lost a close majority decision. Since that
time Lopes has fought her way back into the championship picture with 5 straight wins
and now only Szabados stands in her way. Lopes with a huge following, looks to have a
packed house full of supporters as she takes to the ring to try and capture her 1st World
Championship just a few miles from her home in Marshfield MA.
“We are very excited about this card. We have what is going to be an all out war
between Mark DeLuca and Gabor Gorbics and we have Aleksandra Lopes fighting for
the Championship basically in her home town” said Ken Casey of Murphy’s Boxing.
“Plymouth is a great summer destination and the ideal place for us to hold this night of
world championship boxing. We expect a capacity crowd to witness an amazing night of
fights”, concluded Casey.
