Boston - Fresh on the heels of the widely popular Saint Patrick’s Clash card on Saturday March 19th, Murphys Boxing announces another installment of the Memorial Series. Memorial Series III takes place Thursday May 5th at Melrose Memorial Hall and touts the return of U.S. Marine and undefeated middleweight prospect Mark “Bazooka” DeLuca (13-0 10KOs) against the always tough Salim Larbi (20-5-2 7KOs) from New York, NY. DeLuca a Massachusetts fan favorite known for his come forward style of fighting returns after a year layoff due to a hand injury and looks to pick up right where he left off. A fighter who likes to get in there and bang away, DeLuca plans to fight himself into the national middleweight picture. “It all starts May 5th for me, I’m excited to be back and fighting on another Murphys Boxing card. Melrose Memorial Hall is a great venue and this will be a great night”, said DeLuca. “I’m looking forward to getting back in there. I plan on this being a very active year and working my way into the middleweight rankings.”, concluded DeLuca.

Also on the card will be the hugely popular Greg “The Villain” Vendetti (9-2-1 7KOs) from nearby Stoneham, MA against veteran Malik Jackson of Newark, NJ. Vendetti has been on a tear of late, winning his last 5 bouts all by KO since taking a leave of absence from his job as a plumber and focusing on boxing full time. Vendetti is coming off an absolute destruction of tough Joe Wilson on March 19th in which he floored him 4 times in route to a 4th round KO, and looks to continue on his recent path of destruction.

WIth two popular fan favorites in DeLuca and Vendetti, May 5th is shaping up to be another great night of boxing. “It is great to be able to put on a card with two exciting fighters like Mark DeLuca and Greg Vendetti. I would expect we will see some fireworks from both of them.”, said Ken Casey of Murphys Boxing. “Melrose Memorial Hall is such a great place to watch a fight and with Mark and Greg’s popularity, I would imagine it will be a quick sell out.”, concluded Casey.
