Amateur standout Mykquan “Mykey” Williams Making His Pro Debut on 4-16 in His Hometown State of Conn

The time has finally come for Mykey Williams of Manchester, Connecticut to make his pro debut on April 16, 2016 on a DiBella undercard at Foxwoods Resorts and Casino. He's training with Paul Cichon at Manchester ROC and his 18th birthday is just around the corner on April 6th, and what a great birthday gift it is for him.

Pattee Mak: The last time we chatted you were discussing signing a promotional deal with DiBella. Did that happened?

Williams: No it did not happen yet, some things need to take place first.

Pattee Mak: Do you have a contracted opponent as of yet and if so, whom and what do you know about him as a fighter?

Williams: I do not have an opponent yet.

Pattee Mak: Will this fight be at 147?

Williams: Yes, the fight will be at 147.

Pattee Mak: What have people in the boxing community been saying about you turning pro?

Williams: People in the community are very excited for me and can't wait to see me step in the ring as a pro now.

Pattee Mak: Your trainer, Paul Cichon is like a father to you. Now that you are turning pro what advise has he given to you?

Williams: Nothing is really different , training is a little more intense but nothing serious. My whole amateur career I was preparing for this. His advice has always pretty much been the same, he wants me to dominate and showcase my talent in a great fashion.

Pattee Mak: Another known and popular amateur from neighboring Rhode Island is making his pro debut on the 16th, [Anthony] Marsella. You fought him in the amateurs. I spoke to him recently about you turning pro. What would you like to say to him since he’s making his pro debut on the same day as you?

Williams: I wish him the best of luck for the 16th and throughout his whole pro career.
