Anthony Marsella Makin his Pro Debut on 4-16-2016

Finally on April 16th, just a few weeks away we get to see the pro debut of super lightweight, Rhode Island’s Anthony Marsella at Foxwoods Resorts & Casino on a DiBella undercard. Marsella was originally scheduled to fight on March 12 on the Thurman/Porter undercard but the entire card was cancelled. He’s currently training with Peter Manfredo. I interviewed Marsella just a few weeks ago about that fight and his boxing career. Click here for interview.

Pattee Mak: Like I said finally myself and all your fans get to see you on the 16th. You are fighting at home. Do you have an opponent under contract or are they still trying to match you up?

Marsella: Finally I know! We had a few guys in mind when we were scheduled for March 12 so we'll probably go with one of them.

Pattee Mak: Are you looking to get in the ring for the first time and try and go for the knockout or get more ring work in?

Marsella: I'm not going to go in the looking for it, I'm just going to get in there and do what I do and showcase my skills. But I'm feeling very strong right now, I'm confident that on April 16th, a KO is a strong possibility.

Pattee Mak: What does this fight mean to you?

Marsella: This fight isn't just the start of my career, but my legacy. I'm not going to just be another fighter, I'm going to stand out. I want to make a statement and I'm going to start with this fight.

Pattee Mak: It’s a DiBella undercard. Did you sign a promotional contract with DiBella?

Marsella: I made a trip to New York to meet Dibella and his guys a month ago, first thing he did after we met was made room for me on the Porter-Thurman card. That's when I knew Lou was going to do the right thing with me, he's going to build me the right way as quickly as possible. As of right now we're still going back and forth on the contract which is why I haven't announced my signing, but it's safe to say it will be inked before this fight!
