KHIARY GARY 1ST ROUND KO

[Ringside by Pattee Mak – December 18, 2015] It didn’t take long for Khiary Gray-Pitts of Worcester, Mass to be the main event on a CES card. On Friday night, the 18th, Gray went up against veteran Roberto Valenzuela of Tuscon, Arizona. Usually Gray’s fans want to see more out of Gray in the ring but besides the age difference Gray didn’t take too long to score a 1st round knockout at .59 seconds. There isn’t much to talk about. Gray kept up the Body head combinations. Valenzuela drops to a knee and gets the KO victory.

Gray increases to 11-0 and Valenzuela decreases to 69-71-2.

6 Rounds – Junior Middleweights - Jimmy Williams of New Haven, Conn vs. Chris Gray of Vero Beach, FL Judges scored the bout 58-56 for Williams; 58-56 for Gray and 59-55 for Williams. Williams gets the win by split decision and advances to 10-0-1 and Gray decreases to 13-22-1.

6 Rounds – Middleweights - Local favorite “Irish” Joe McCreedy of Lowell, Mass vs. Emmanuel Sanchez of Laredo, Texas. In a recent interview with McCreedy he said if he was going to lose this bout he would retire in the ring. For the interview click here: http://bit.ly/InterviewIrishJoeMcCreedy. There was no words about him retiring after the fight in the ring, but in my eyes he definitely won the fight. Round 2, McCreedy lands a left hook and drops Sanchez. McCreedy is in beast mode. Parrying well. Round 4 McCreedy lands a great right on Sanchez. Judges scored the bout 57-56 for Sanchez; 60-53 for McCreedy and 58-56 for Sanchez. Sanchez per the scorecards won by split decision. The majority of the crowd and a few of the individuals in press row also thought McCreedy won the fight.

4 Rounds – Middleweights - Fathlum Zhuta of Anchorage, Alaska vs. Deivison Ribeiro of Brazel. Zhuta dropped Ribeiro to the canvas twice during the 1st round while continuing on unleashing a multitude of punches. Referee had enough and stopped the bout at 1:47 and Zhuta gets the TKO victory.

6 Rounds – Junior Welterweights - Freddy Sanchez of Worcester, Mass vs. Sidney Maccow of New York, New York. After 6 rounds with Sanchez dominating the bout the judges scored the fight 59-55; 59-55 and 60-54 all for Sanchez by UD.

4 Rounds – Junior Welterweights - Julio Perez of Framingham, Mass vs. pro debut Josh Bourque. Bourque ended up with a cut above the left eye while Perez dominated the fight. All 3 judges scored the bout 40-36 for Perez by UD.

4 Rounds – Featherweights - Providence, Rhode Island, Cido Hoff making his pro debut vs. Timmy Ramos of Framingham, Mass. During round 2 Ramos gets dropped by a right. Both are taking a ton of punishment. Hoff has a great chin. Judges scored the fight 38-37; 38-38 and 38-38 – majority draw. Definitely in my opinion a great matched up bout.

4 Rounds – Junior Middleweights - Ray Oliveira Jr. of New Bedford, Mass vs. Antonio “Lino” Fernandes of Brockton, Mass. By the end of the 2nd both fighters were throwing a barrage of punches. Oliveira kept digging in the body in the 3rd and missing the body and got the low blow. Lino drops to his knee. After 4 rounds the judges scored the bout 39-37; 39-37 and 40-36 all 3 for Oliveira for the win by UD.
